Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has suspended KAS Officer G T Dinesh Kumar for alleged irregularities during his tenure as the Commissioner of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The suspension comes shortly after Kumar was appointed as the Registrar at Haveri University.

The decision to suspend Kumar was based on a technical committee’s report that highlighted violations of rules and regulations during his time at MUDA. The specific nature of these irregularities has not been disclosed, but they have prompted swift action from the state government.

This development has further intensified the controversy surrounding plots allotted by MUDA to the wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The issue has caused a political stir in the state over the past month. In a related move, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has sanctioned an investigation and prosecution of Siddaramaiah in connection with the alleged scam. However, Siddaramaiah has challenged the Governor’s decision in the High Court, questioning the legality of the sanction.
