Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru has marked a stellar achievement in agricultural exports, concluding another remarkable mango export season. In 2024, the airport exported 822 metric tonnes (MT) of mangoes, reflecting a significant 20% increase from the previous year. This achievement represents a 59% rise in volume compared to 2023, highlighting both the growing international demand for Indian mangoes and the airport’s efficiency in managing perishable exports.

The success is underscored by the export of 27 lakh mangoes this season, up from 685 tonnes last year. Notably, exports to U.S. destinations such as Washington Dulles, Dallas-Fort Worth, and San Francisco have surged, with Bengaluru Airport’s extensive international network ensuring seamless global delivery. The airport’s cold storage facility, WFS BLR Coolport, has been crucial in maintaining produce quality throughout the supply chain.

Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Operating Officer at Bangalore International Airport, praised the achievement: “This significant increase in mango exports reaffirms our status as a leading gateway for Indian agricultural products, catering to the rising global demand for Indian mangoes.”
