A Kenyan national was apprehended at the Bengaluru International Airport following intelligence received by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). The arrest, conducted by the Bengaluru zonal unit of DRI, occurred after the woman arrived on an Indigo flight from Doha on Friday.
Upon thorough inspection of her checked-in luggage, officials discovered packets containing approximately three kilograms of off-white powdered substance concealed in a false bottom. The substance, valued at ₹30 crore, tested positive for cocaine using field testing kits.
Authorities promptly arrested the passenger under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, 1985. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details regarding the origin and destination of the contraband.
