Bengaluru: The Lokayukta has launched an investigation into the tragic death of a 76-year-old retired teacher, Rajadulari Sinha, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a stray dog attack near Jalahalli Air Base on August 29.
Notices have been issued to eight BBMP officials, including the Chief Commissioner and Yelahanka Zone Commissioner, for their alleged failure to control stray dog breeding and pest control measures.
During a recent visit, Lokayukta Justice B.S. Patil discovered irregularities in cash transactions and unaccounted money at Dasanapura and Adakamaranahalli gram panchayat offices. A notice has been issued to the PDOs and other officials to provide details on the uncollected tax amount of ₹16.50 crore by October 15.
The Lokayukta’s swift action is seen as a move to hold officials accountable for their lapses in duty, ensuring that such incidents are prevented in the future.
