Bengaluru — In a chilling case of betrayal and murder, Kengeri police have arrested a 22-year-old woman, Umme Salma, and her 25-year-old lover, Dadapeer alias Daddu, for allegedly killing her husband, Sameer Asad Ul, a 26-year-old tyre shop worker.
Sameer’s body, bearing multiple injuries including severe head trauma, was found Monday morning near Turahalli forest. Preliminary investigations revealed that Sameer and Salma had been married for 1.5 years and had a six-month-old daughter.
Salma, a homemaker from Padarayanapura, was previously engaged to Dadapeer, a two-wheeler mechanic from Cottonpet. Though their engagement was called off due to concerns over Dadapeer’s company, Salma kept in touch with him even after her marriage to Sameer.
Tensions brewed in the marriage after Sameer, described as an alcoholic, discovered Salma’s ongoing affair. Frequent quarrels followed, culminating in a murder plot hatched two months ago.
On Sunday, Salma traveled to Chintamani to set the plan in motion. Meanwhile, Dadapeer picked Sameer up from JC Road post-work. After drinking at a bar, Dadapeer led Sameer to Turahalli forest, where he bludgeoned him to death using a two-wheeler’s shock absorber.
Police detained Dadapeer on Monday morning and Salma later that evening. Both have confessed to the murder. Investigations are ongoing.
