Bengaluru police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife and attempting to pass it off as a suicide. The suspect, Sharath Uttangi, a private firm employee from Malleswaram, was taken into custody after medical reports contradicted his statements.

Incident Details

On Monday, Uttangi rushed his wife, Chethana, to the hospital, claiming she had attempted suicide. However, doctors discovered strangulation marks on her neck and immediately alerted the police.

Confession & Investigation

During questioning, Uttangi admitted to strangling Chethana, a 43-year-old lecturer at a private college. An autopsy confirmed that she died due to asphyxiation. Police investigations revealed that ongoing financial disputes led to the fatal altercation.

Family & Further Probe

The couple had been married for 15 years and have a 13-year-old daughter. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details in the case.
