A shocking case of personal vengeance led to the murder of a man from Uttar Pradesh in Bengaluru, after he allegedly boasted about an affair with his acquaintance’s sister-in-law. Police have confirmed that Shailesh Yadav, a native of Gorakhpur, was killed in Bandepalya on June 19.
Investigations revealed that the murder was orchestrated by Birendra Yadav, also from Gorakhpur, who took offence at Shailesh’s repeated claims of being involved with his sister-in-law back in their hometown. Enraged, Birendra conspired to eliminate him and enlisted the help of two associates—Satish Yadav and Arun Yadav.
While Birendra remains at large, the Bengaluru police have apprehended Satish and Arun. Initially, the suspects attempted to cover up the crime by claiming that Shailesh had accidentally tripped and died. However, the post-mortem report released on Monday contradicted their narrative. It confirmed that Shailesh had died due to a severe head injury caused by blunt force trauma, indicating foul play.
A senior police official stated that Shailesh had moved to Bengaluru some time ago and continued to boast about the alleged affair, which likely provoked the revenge-driven attack. The case has since taken a serious turn, with a manhunt launched to track down Birendra, the prime suspect.
Police continue to investigate the murder, piecing together the timeline and gathering forensic evidence, while the two arrested accomplices remain in custody for further interrogation
