Adugodi police in Bengaluru have arrested 25-year-old Gautham for threatening a shopkeeper with a machete-like weapon and demanding free cigarettes. The incident, which took place on February 4, was captured in a viral video showing Gautham arguing with the shopkeeper and brandishing the sharp weapon.
The shopkeeper told the police that the confrontation occurred after he asked Gautham for payment for a packet of cigarettes and a matchbox. The suspect, in a fit of anger, threatened the shopkeeper before fleeing the scene.
The police managed to trace Gautham and arrested him. He has been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Gautham has been sent to judicial custody for his actions. The case is under further investigation.
This incident highlights the growing concerns over such aggressive behavior and the increasing use of weapons in petty disputes.
