Anekal: Bangalore Rural MP Dr. C.N. Manjunath has expressed strong opposition to the proposal to rename Ramanagara district as Bangalore Dakshina district, citing that a name change does not guarantee development.
Speaking at a program held at Marasuru Gate on Sunday, Dr. Manjunath questioned the logic behind renaming the district, stating that changing a person’s name does not alter their personality or character. Instead, he suggested branding Ramanagara as Ramanagara and focusing on comprehensive development to enhance its reputation.
He emphasized that the name Ramanagara is unique and elegant, and abandoning the proposal to change it would be in the best interest of the district. Dr. Manjunath urged the authorities to prioritize development over renaming, ensuring that Ramanagara’s identity and heritage are preserved.
