The recent death of a 30-year-old dog breeder, Guna, in north Bengaluru has left authorities grappling with unanswered questions. Despite active efforts, the police have yet to apprehend any suspects.
On January 10, Guna’s wife, Josephine, reported him missing after he failed to return home in Hegde Nagar. He had informed her he was heading to an apartment to collect payment but never came back. Hours later, his lifeless body was found in an apartment in Bagalur during a police search.
Josephine recounted that Guna’s friend, Chandru S, had accompanied him to the apartment. Chandru said Guna asked him to wait in the parking lot while he went to flat 15075 on the seventh floor. A suspicious phone call to Josephine later falsely claimed Guna was at Chikkaballapur police station, which was quickly debunked by authorities.
CCTV footage from the apartment complex revealed two men, including Brijesh, the occupant of flat 15075, carrying Guna’s body wrapped in a bloodied bedsheet into an elevator at 8:46 pm. Chandru identified Brijesh in the footage.
Josephine alleged Guna was murdered, likely with a weapon, and the suspects tried to cover up the crime. Based on the evidence, police filed a second FIR under charges of murder, evidence tampering, and criminal conspiracy. Efforts to locate Brijesh and another unidentified accomplice are ongoing.
