The Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru organised a candlelight vigil on Sunday evening at Paalanaa Bhavana in memory of Late Chinaoshang Shokwungnao, Late Yaruingam Vashum and Late Horshokmi Jamang.
The solemn gathering began at around 6.30 pm and drew nearly 300 attendees, serving as a space for mourning, reflection and solidarity within the Naga community in Bengaluru.
Prayerful beginning
The programme opened with an invocation by Pastor Tamalong Pongen of Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore.
Proceedings were led by Eno Vilhu Chalieu, President of Angami Students’ Union Bangalore.
Message of unity
Delivering a solidarity message, Eno Yuikan Shirik urged Nagas to remain united and support one another with compassion and respect during moments of grief.
NSUB General Secretary Eno Kumlanthung Murry said the gathering must send a clear message that the community would stand for truth, justice and peace.
Respectful remembrance
The vigil concluded with a benediction by Pastor Livingson Rakhangmi of Thangal Fellowship Bangalore.
Organisers clarified that the event was strictly non-political and intended only as an inclusive and respectful space for mourning and remembrance.
Strength in togetherness
The gathering reflected the emotional strength found in unity during sorrow and highlighted how communities far from home continue to stand together in difficult times.
