A passenger died after falling from a moving train near Jnanabharathi railway station in Bengaluru, railway police said.
The incident occurred on Friday and triggered an investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP) to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal fall.
Victim falls from moving train
According to preliminary reports, the passenger accidentally fell from the moving train while it was passing through the Jnanabharathi station area.
Fellow passengers and railway staff alerted authorities soon after the incident. Emergency responders rushed to the spot and shifted the victim for medical attention.
However, he succumbed to his injuries.
Police begin investigation
Railway police have registered a case and launched an inquiry into the incident.
Officials are examining whether overcrowding, loss of balance, or other factors may have contributed to the fall.
The identity of the deceased has not been officially disclosed pending notification of family members.
