The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) confirmed on Thursday that they are working alongside the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to extradite Salman Rehman Khan, a member of the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), from Rwanda. The extradition is being carried out through Interpol, as per reports from news agency ANI.
Khan is implicated in a significant terror-related case and is accused of facilitating terrorist activities in Bengaluru by providing weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The NIA has filed charges against him, including criminal conspiracy, membership in a terrorist organization, and support to such groups. Additionally, Khan faces charges under the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act.
The arrest of Khan highlights ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks and prevent violence in the country. His extradition marks a significant step forward in tackling such threats and pursuing justice for the related offenses.
The case involving Khan’s activities is part of a broader investigation into terrorist operations aimed at destabilizing regions and endangering public safety. By securing Khan’s return, authorities hope to gather more intelligence and strengthen their ongoing fight against terrorism.
Khan’s extradition further underscores the critical role of international cooperation in addressing cross-border terrorism and bringing criminals to justice.
