Senior IPS officer Seemanth Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru City, as per an official government notification issued on Thursday. His appointment follows the immediate suspension of former commissioner B Dayananda, who was held accountable for negligence in handling the stampede incident near Chinnaswamy Stadium that resulted in 11 deaths and left over 50 people injured.
