A series of four violent attacks rocked Bengaluru’s upscale Indiranagar on Saturday night, with police suspecting a serial killer behind them. A manhunt is underway.

Authorities identified the suspect as Kadamba, a known petty thief and habitual drunkard. He allegedly carried out the assaults in an intoxicated state. Residing in Byappanahalli slum, he was last seen near Hoskote on Bengaluru’s outskirts, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) D Devaraj.

Among the victims were two street food vendors, a bike taxi rider, and a security guard who attempted to intervene. The attacker not only injured his targets but also stole a scooter and mobile phone. Indiranagar police registered four separate cases between 9:40 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.

The first attack happened near Kund Hotel on 100 Feet Road when a pani puri vendor, Deepak Kumar Verma, was slashed on the neck. Minutes later, another vendor, Tammaiah M, was injured in a similar manner after a dispute over payment.

Hours later, a bike taxi rider was ambushed near Lono pub, sustaining injuries while resisting a robbery. A security guard who tried to stop the attacker was also attacked.

Alarmed residents circulated messages online, speculating about a serial knifeman targeting unsuspecting individuals. Police continue their efforts to track him down.
