Bengaluru police have arrested seven women for allegedly running a prostitution racket from multiple rented houses in different parts of the city.
According to police officials, the accused were operating the illegal network from residential properties taken on rent and were allegedly using them to facilitate prostitution activities.
The arrests were made following a raid conducted by police after receiving credible information about suspicious activities at the rented houses.
Police seize evidence during raid
During the operation, officials reportedly rescued several women and seized mobile phones, cash and other materials connected to the racket.
Police said the accused had allegedly been managing customers through phone calls and online communication platforms while shifting operations between rented properties to avoid suspicion.
Authorities stated that further investigation is underway to identify others involved in the network, including agents and customers linked to the operation.
Crackdown on illegal activities continues
Police officials said the city police have intensified action against organised illegal activities operating under the guise of residential rentals.
The accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and other applicable laws.
Officials also urged citizens and property owners to verify tenant details properly and report suspicious activities to local police stations.
