Bengaluru’s 16-year-old singing prodigies, Tara and Trisha, recently returned from Los Angeles, where they collaborated with global music icons to compose and record new tracks. Their debut single, Bo2gedda, released in October, and their next is slated for January. “We’re exploring different styles, so our singles don’t follow one specific theme,” says Tara. Their music ranges from pop to rock and ballads.
The twins’ journey began early, with music deeply ingrained in their lives. Born to musician parents, they started singing at three and aced their first music exams by five. Performing at church and community events led to school musicals, girl-band gigs, and eventually paid performances by age 12.
A pivotal moment came during the lockdown when Tara’s rendition of Via Dolorosa caught the attention of Broadway producer Mark Schoenfeld. Invited to Los Angeles, she contributed vocals for his project Music Boy. Since then, the sisters have collaborated with Broadway composers and Berklee alumni who’ve worked with global stars like the Jonas Brothers.
Their music reflects their life stories, aspirations, and Indian heritage, blending themes of love and friendship. Inspired by legends like The Andrews Sisters, the Carpenters, and Adele, they cite John Lloyd Taylor as their creative muse.
Balancing studies with their passion, they’ve embraced open schooling to pursue music full-time. With their talent and dedication, Tara and Trisha are carving a global niche, proving that melodies know no boundaries.
