Bengaluru: The Special Court of People’s Representatives has scheduled a hearing for a complaint filed against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the Muda scam, as directed by the High Court. The case has been adjourned to September 2.

The High Court’s intervention followed a private complaint against the Chief Minister filed by social activist Snehamai Krishna. The bench, headed by Gajanana Bhat, decided to take up the case after the Governor refused to grant permission for prosecution.

In response, CM Siddaramaiah has filed a petition with the High Court seeking a stay on the Governor’s permission for an inquiry against him. The High Court heard the application on Monday and directed that no judgment be given regarding these complaints, adjourning the hearing to September 29.

Social activist T.J. Abraham has also filed a private complaint against the Chief Minister with the Court of Representatives. Although the court had initially set August 21 for the inquiry, the complainant will now submit a copy of the High Court order to the People’s Court on Wednesday, with a possible hearing date in September.

The Muda scam case continues to develop, with the Special Court’s decision to hear the complaint against CM Siddaramaiah marking a significant development. The case will be closely monitored as it progresses.
