In a shocking incident in Nelamangala town, a 27-year-old woman named Radha was arrested for allegedly killing her newborn by immersing the infant in boiling water.

According to police, the baby was born prematurely and had been unable to feed since birth, crying nonstop. Radha believed the child was unwell and possibly abnormal. Investigators suspect she was suffering from severe postpartum depression at the time.

Her personal circumstances were also dire—her husband, reportedly unemployed and addicted to alcohol, had abandoned her while she stayed at her parents’ home in Vishweshwarapura.

Officials say the combination of mental health issues, isolation, and family neglect likely contributed to the tragedy
