Heavy showers on Sunday caused traffic disruptions and tree falls across several parts of Bengaluru. Waterlogging slowed traffic from Veerasandra Junction to Hosur Road and along Varthur Main Road in both directions. Areas like BTM 2nd Stage, Madavara, and Devanahalli experienced moderate rainfall, compounding traffic woes.

The BBMP control room reported tree falls in Chamarajpet, Kumaraswamy Layout, Kamala Nagar, and CV Raman Nagar, though no injuries were reported. A car was damaged on Kogilu Main Road after a tree fell on an electric wire in Chamundi Layout, Yelahanka.

Rainfall readings showed 16.6 mm at Kempegowda International Airport, while HAL and Bengaluru city observatories recorded 1 mm and 0.8 mm, respectively.

According to IMD Bengaluru chief N Puviarasan, dry weather is likely to prevail until April 25, after which light to moderate pre-monsoon thunderstorms are expected to resume. A trough from north-central Maharashtra to the Gulf of Mannar, spanning across Telangana and Interior Karnataka, is currently influencing the weather.
