A popular Bengaluru eatery owner has recalled how a visit by celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma created massive crowds and traffic congestion outside the restaurant, eventually leading to a police warning.

The incident reportedly took place at Central Tiffin Room, widely known as CTR, one of Bengaluru’s most iconic traditional eateries.

Celebrity visits drew huge crowds

According to the owner, fans gathered in large numbers after learning about the couple’s visit, leading to traffic disruption in the surrounding area. The crowd reportedly became difficult to manage as people attempted to catch a glimpse of the celebrity pair.

The owner said local police later warned the restaurant management about the growing traffic issues caused by celebrity visits and crowd gatherings.

Bengaluru eatery popular among stars

CTR has long enjoyed popularity among both locals and celebrities for its traditional South Indian breakfast dishes, especially its dosa and filter coffee.

Apart from Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, the restaurant has reportedly attracted several prominent personalities including Deepika Padukone and other film and sports stars over the years.

Food lovers often describe the eatery as one of Bengaluru’s classic culinary landmarks with a loyal customer base spanning generations.

Celebrity culture and public excitement

Experts note that celebrity sightings at popular restaurants frequently attract crowds in metropolitan cities like Bengaluru, especially when public figures are known to visit local establishments.

Social media and instant sharing of celebrity locations often contribute to sudden gatherings, traffic congestion and crowd-control challenges.

Restaurant owners in popular urban areas sometimes face difficulties balancing customer excitement with local traffic management and neighbourhood concerns.

A reflection of Bengaluru’s food culture

The story has once again highlighted Bengaluru’s vibrant food culture, where traditional eateries continue to remain cultural hotspots despite the city’s rapidly changing urban landscape.

Many residents say iconic restaurants like CTR hold emotional and nostalgic value beyond their food, attracting visitors from across the country
