Residents across many Bengaluru neighbourhoods will experience electricity interruptions on Sunday, June 29, according to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), The Hindu reported. Power outages are scheduled mainly between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, potentially lasting up to seven hours in certain locations.

BESCOM clarified that these disruptions are due to planned quarterly maintenance activities. Officials noted that such maintenance is often arranged on weekends when overall grid demand is lower, as many residents are away from workplaces.

The following areas are likely to face power cuts:
Seshadri Road, Kurubara Sangha Circle, 1st Main Road, Gandhi Nagar 1st Cross and parts of 2nd Cross, Crescent Road, Seshadripuram, Vinayaka Circle, Kempegowda Road, Tank Bund Road, Subedar Chatram Road, Lakshmanpuri Slum Area, Cubbonpet, Anand Rao Circle, Race Course Road, Chalukya Circle, High Grounds, Malleswaram, and adjoining parts of Seshadripuram.

Recent maintenance-related shutdowns on June 24 already impacted several zones. BESCOM and the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) routinely implement such scheduled outages to carry out system upgrades and repairs. These activities include trimming trees near power lines, converting overhead cables underground, supporting the Jalasiri 24×7 water supply project, replacing high-tension wires, servicing Ring Main Units, and maintaining connections to ensure grid reliability.

Residents are advised to plan their weekend activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
