A 35-year-old woman has filed a police complaint alleging that her husband and brother-in-law threatened her with a pistol following repeated demands for money from her parental home and prolonged domestic harassment.

The complaint was lodged at the Annapurneshwari Nagar Police Station by Bhavya, a homemaker, who alleged that she had been subjected to both physical and mental harassment by her husband over financial demands.

According to the complaint, an argument between the family members escalated, during which the accused allegedly threatened her using a pistol. Bhavya further accused her brother-in-law of being involved in the incident.

Police begin investigation

Based on the woman’s complaint, police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations.

A senior police officer stated that while the complaint has been taken seriously, investigators have not yet found evidence to substantiate the claim that the woman was threatened with the firearm.

Officials said the accused is a civil contractor and legally owns the pistol, possessing a valid licence for the weapon.

No seizure made so far

Police confirmed that the pistol has not been seized at this stage of the investigation. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident and recording statements from those involved.

Further inquiry is underway to determine the facts of the case and whether any offences have been committed.

The police have urged the public to allow the investigation to proceed while all claims and counterclaims are verified.
