A woman escaped without injuries after the car she was driving crashed into a road divider in Bengaluru’s Hennur area on Thursday afternoon, briefly disrupting traffic movement.

According to traffic police, the woman was driving a Maruti Swift when the accident occurred while she was attempting to make a U-turn.

Panic braking leads to crash

Police said the driver noticed a goods vehicle approaching from the opposite direction during the manoeuvre. Startled by the oncoming vehicle, she allegedly panicked and applied the brakes suddenly.

The abrupt braking caused her to lose control of the car, which then rammed into the road divider.

The impact damaged the front portion of the vehicle. However, the woman escaped unhurt and was safely assisted out of the car by passers-by.

Traffic restored after vehicle removed

Hennur traffic police personnel reached the spot shortly after the accident and regulated traffic to prevent congestion in the area.

A senior police officer said the damaged vehicle was later towed away and shifted to a garage.

Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident and no injuries were reported.

As there were no casualties and no complaints were filed, the Hennur traffic police did not register a case.
