Quick commerce startup Zepto is experiencing significant growth and plans to relocate its headquarters from Mumbai’s Powai to Bengaluru’s Sarjapur, as reported by Moneycontrol. While Zepto currently operates from both cities, the move aims to centralize its corporate roles into a larger, consolidated facility.
Zepto plans to bring all 1,700-1,800 employees into a single location, transitioning from its current offices in Mumbai and Bengaluru. “While the company has been flexible for now, we have all been mandated to relocate to Bengaluru by the end of November or early December,” a source said.
The company will cover the relocation costs for employees transferring to Bengaluru, estimated at Rs 3 crore-Rs 4 crore. This expense will be offset by anticipated savings of Rs 40 lakh-Rs 50 lakh per month in rent due to the move.
Zepto operates two primary offices: an 80,000-90,000 sq ft facility in Mumbai and a 30,000-40,000 sq ft space in Bengaluru. The company is finalizing a 150,000 sq ft property in Sarjapur, HSR, or Bellandur areas to house the consolidated operations.
Out of Zepto’s workforce, around 1,000 are based in Mumbai, 400 in Bengaluru, and 300 in various locations managing city operations. The report indicated that approximately 90% of the Mumbai-based employees are willing to relocate, with the remaining in discussions.
This strategic move is expected to streamline Zepto’s operations, enhance collaboration, and support its continued growth trajectory.
