Bidar SP Pradeepa Gunti announced a significant crackdown on illegal ganja trafficking, resulting in the seizure of ganja and valuables worth Rs 3.1 crore in Bidar district, Kalaburagi. The operation was conducted following credible information about the illegal transportation of ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra.
During a press conference held at the DAR Police Parade Grounds, SP Gunti detailed the seizure, which included 3.5 kg of ganja valued at Rs 3 crore. Additionally, authorities confiscated a truck worth Rs 8 lakh, a car valued at Rs 6 lakh, four mobile phones worth Rs 9,500, and Rs 9,230 in cash.
The raid led to the arrest of four individuals involved in the illegal trafficking operation. Following their apprehension, the accused were promptly placed in judicial custody pending further legal proceedings.
The successful operation underscores law enforcement’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking activities in the region and upholding public safety.
