Flipkart

Flipkart, backed by Walmart, is gearing up to introduce its quick commerce initiative called ‘Flipkart Minutes’ in July, marking its third attempt in this space after two previous less successful endeavors. According to Business Today, sources familiar with the matter revealed that Flipkart aims to achieve 15-minute delivery times with this service, with a potential launch around July 15.

‘Flipkart Minutes’ is intended to capitalize on the company’s robust supply chain, focusing initially on electronics, groceries, and other essential items, although an official announcement from Flipkart is still pending.

This move follows Flipkart’s earlier initiative, Flipkart Quick, which struggled to gain traction despite offering 90-minute delivery services.

In parallel efforts, Flipkart has expanded its grocery fulfilment centers, highlighted by a new facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, capable of dispatching over 6,500 orders daily, underscoring its commitment to enhancing logistics capabilities.

In India’s quick commerce landscape, major players currently include Zomato-backed Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy’s Instamart, which is set to go public soon.
