Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI-powered suite, will finally be available in India starting in April this year. This marks a significant expansion of Apple’s AI capabilities in the country, which were previously limited to basic features such as the Clean Up tool. During Apple’s most recent earnings call, Cook announced that the rollout would support multiple languages, including a localized version of English tailored specifically for Indian users. This means that iPhone, iPad, and Mac users in India will soon have access to a range of AI-driven tools like Writing Tools, Smart Reply, and even ChatGPT integration.

This move reflects Apple’s growing focus on the Indian market, which has become one of the most important regions for the tech giant. Cook shared that Apple saw record iPhone sales in India during the December quarter, with the iPhone emerging as the top-selling model in the country. Given that India is the world’s second-largest smartphone market and third-largest market for PCs and tablets, it has become a critical area for Apple’s expansion. To strengthen its presence, Apple has also announced plans to open four new retail stores in India.

The Apple Intelligence suite will not only be available in India, but it will also support other languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Localized English versions will be rolled out in Singapore alongside India.

In addition to this, Apple’s CFO, Kevan Parekh, emphasized the company’s strong performance in emerging markets, particularly in India, where Zomato, a popular food delivery platform, has equipped its workforce with Mac devices to drive innovation.

Apple Intelligence will be available for iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro models. Indian users can access AI features by changing their device’s regional settings to languages that support the suite.
