Apple is preparing to launch four fresh retail outlets across India, with one confirmed site being Phoenix Mall of Asia in Byatarayanapura, North Bengaluru. Though CEO Tim Cook announced plans for stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai during a recent earnings call, exact locations and opening dates remain undisclosed.

The Bengaluru store’s location was revealed by the @Bangalorereal1 account on X and verified by real estate sources, despite Apple not responding to media inquiries.

Currently, Apple runs two physical stores in India: one in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex and another in Delhi’s Saket, both reportedly generating monthly revenues between ₹22 and ₹25 crore. The company also operates an online platform serving customers nationwide.

India’s importance in Apple’s global strategy is rapidly increasing. According to IDC, Apple broke into the top five smartphone brands in India in Q4 2024 with a 10% market share. By Q1 2025, Apple’s market share had surged by more than 23% year-over-year. Presently, India ranks as Apple’s fourth-largest market, following China, the USA, and Japan.

Manufacturing investments are growing swiftly. Apple’s partners, Tata Group and Foxconn, have established iPhone assembly units in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Foxconn is developing a sprawling 300-acre facility with worker accommodations in Doddaballapur, near Bengaluru’s airport, under Project Elephant.

To avoid import taxes amid the ongoing US-China trade tensions, Apple intends to begin exporting iPhones to the US from its Indian factories by June.

This expansion underscores Bengaluru’s emergence as a critical hub for Apple’s retail and manufacturing ambitions in India’s booming tech market.
