Bengaluru : The former Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jatin Dalal, is the target of a lawsuit that the corporate behemoth Wipro filed in the Bengaluru Civil Court. Dalal, who is currently CFO of Cognizant, has responded by asking the court to order arbitration.
The legal suit against Dalal, however, has unknown origins. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court postponed the case until January 3.
Dalal will probably relocate to the US or the UK after the visa procedures are finished. On November 28, the case had its initial hearing. Dalal submitted an application during the initial week of December, in accordance with Section 8 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996.
Under the act, the court could direct parties to arbitration under its judicial authority. Dalal had worked with Wipro for two decades, and presently, he reports to CEO Ravi Kumar at Cognizant. He was elevated to the position of CFO in 2015 and took charge as the president in 2019.
Wipro had recently filed a complaint against its former senior vice president Mohd Haque for violating non-compete covenants by joining Wipro’s direct competitor, Cognizant.
