HONG KONG: Today, Davenport Laroche has confirmed that they will be serving as the preferred vendor to provide thousands of shipping containers for the development of new airports in Tibet. This announcement follows news from the Chinese Government who has reported that they have planned for the construction of three new airport facilities in the Tibet region. The containers provided by Davenport Laroche will be used for transporting the massive amount of supplies and materials needed for the construction of the new airports.
These new state-of-the-art airport facilities were recently approved by the Tibetan government in an effort to give the country’s more remote regions an economic boost. Pedron, head of the Tibet Civil Aviation Administration, has reported that the new airports will be located in Lhokha of Lhunze County, Shigatse of Dingri county, and Burang County, the administrative center of Ngari Prefecture in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
With the launch of this new project, Davenport Laroche is planning for a significant increase in demand of their shipping container fleet over the next several years.
