A former Emirates flight attendant’s viral video has triggered disciplinary action against multiple crew members, exposing unauthorized in-flight activities. Amanda King, an ex-cabin crew member turned social media influencer, shared behind-the-scenes footage, including a controversial segment titled “Things You DON’T See as a Passenger.”

King’s video, which amassed over 1.2 million views, showcased crew members baking a cake mid-flight and allowing unauthorized access to the crew rest area. The airline launched an investigation, focusing on those involved in the violations. Although King had already resigned, Emirates confirmed that no dismissals resulted from the probe.

Beyond food preparation breaches, King’s footage revealed her switching jumpseats to stay near her boyfriend—violating safety protocols. Emirates raised concerns over the exposure of sensitive safety equipment and storage locations, viewing this as a potential security risk.

The airline’s response reflects a broader industry shift towards stricter social media policies. British Airways implemented regulations limiting crew content creation, while Qatar Airways reversed a long-standing ban, allowing crew members to post images in uniform for the first time since 2016. These evolving policies highlight the challenge airlines face in balancing employee expression with operational security.

As airlines tighten social media rules, incidents like this reinforce the risks of unauthorized content sharing in aviation.

An official statement received to News Karnataka stated: “Emirates is aware of the video mentioned and had investigated the matter at the time. We can confirm that no crew was dismissed as a result.”
