The globally renowned French bakery PAUL has made its entry into Bengaluru, bringing with it a rich legacy of European culinary traditions dating back to 1889.

With a presence in over 47 countries, the family-run brand opened its doors in the city this January, offering an authentic French café experience centred around artisanal breads, pastries, and classic continental dishes.

A taste of France in every bite

PAUL’s menu showcases a wide range of viennoiseries—delicate creations that lie between bread and pastry—paired with generous servings of coffee and tea. The selection includes croissants, tarts, éclairs, and crêpes, each prepared with traditional techniques and refined presentation.

The bakery’s commitment to authenticity is evident, with minimal adaptation to local tastes, allowing diners to experience genuine European flavours.

All-day breakfast delights

One of the highlights is the all-day breakfast menu, featuring croissant sandwiches, French toast, omelettes, and other egg-based dishes.

A standout option is the classic croque monsieur, a French sandwich made with bread, cheese, and chicken ham. Served with a crisp golden crust, salad, and fries, it offers a hearty and satisfying meal.

Hearty mains and indulgent desserts

The menu extends beyond breakfast to include traditional dishes such as coq au vin—chicken braised in red wine—served here with vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes, creating a rich and comforting dish.

Dessert lovers are treated to signature creations like the fleur de lys, a light and airy dark chocolate mousse cake that reflects the bakery’s expertise in patisserie.

Staying true to tradition

Unlike many international brands, PAUL has largely retained its classic recipes without heavily adapting them for the Indian palate. Apart from a few local touches, such as a masala egg bhurji croissant, the menu remains rooted in its French origins.

Vegetarian and eggetarian options are also available, including dishes like cottage cheese steak served with continental accompaniments.

A new favourite for city diners

With its authentic offerings and elegant presentation, PAUL adds a fresh dimension to Bengaluru’s café culture. The diverse menu and traditional approach make it a compelling destination for those seeking a genuine European dining experience.

The bakery’s arrival signals the growing appetite among Bengaluru diners for global cuisines served in their original form.
