Bengaluru:- Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of the all-new Swift in May 2024. This marks the arrival of the fourth generation of the popular hatchback in the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki dealerships have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the new Swift, with an initial payment of Rs 11,000. Deliveries are expected to commence next month, said sources.
The 2024 Swift boasts a new 1.2-liter Z-Series petrol engine, with the option for mild hybrid technology to enhance fuel efficiency. Initially, only the petrol variant will be available, while a CNG option is expected later this year.
Spy images suggest the new Swift will borrow design cues from its siblings, the Fronx compact crossover and the Baleno hatch. The interior gets a makeover with a dual-tone black and beige theme and a revamped dashboard layout.
The cabin features a contemporary flat-bottom steering wheel, a combination of analog dials with a Multi-Information Display (MID), keyless entry for added convenience, and automatic climate control for comfortable journeys. Ventilated seats offer a welcome respite in hot weather, while a sleek 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity keeps passengers entertained.
While the Indian variant might miss out on the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology seen in the Japanese version, safety remains a priority. Top-end models are expected to come equipped with six airbags, brake assist, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), ensuring peace of mind for drivers.
The 2024 Swift will be slightly bigger than its predecessor, stretching 3860mm in length. However, it will maintain a compact feel with a width of 1695mm and a height of 1500mm.
