Bengaluru: Dr Anil Pant, who held the esteemed roles of Managing Director and CEO at Aptech, passed away on August 15th, an announcement confirmed by the company through an official exchange filing. The company conveyed its profound condolences for this loss.
The official filing from the company stated, “Regarding the aforementioned reference, it is with regret that the Company informs about the unfortunate demise of Dr Anil Pant, who served as the Managing Director & CEO of the Company. This event occurred on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.”
The company went on to express, “The Company deeply feels the absence of Dr Pant’s contributions and vigour. The entire board of directors and the company’s workforce extend their heartfelt sympathies to his family.”
This unfortunate event follows Dr Pant’s earlier decision to take an indefinite leave due to health issues. As previously noted in a company filing on June 19th this year, his health had taken a downturn, leading to his leave.
To address the situation, an emergency meeting was convened on June 19th, during which a temporary committee was formed comprising select board members and senior management. This was aimed at ensuring the smooth continuation of company operations.
The company filing also highlighted the active participation of the nomination and remuneration committee, along with the board of directors, in the selection process of an interim CEO.
Dr Anil Pant had held the positions of MD and CEO at Aptech since 2016. His exceptional leadership had earned Aptech several accolades, including recognition from the CMMI Institute at Maturity Level 3 of the People Capability Maturity Model and Capability Maturity Model in 2018.
Prior to joining Aptech, Dr Pant had enjoyed a distinguished career at companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Sify Technologies. With an extensive career spanning over 25 years, he dedicated more than 15 years to the IT and Communication sector. His responsibilities ranged from Quality and Sales to Marketing, Delivery, and Product Management. In his recent roles, he had taken on Profit and Loss responsibilities.
From 2010 to 2016, Dr Pant assumed the role of Principal Consultant at TCS, where he remarkably established a $100 million practice in the testing domain. He also held the position of Vice President at Sify Technologies from 2008 to 2010. His contributions extended to companies like Blow Past, Crompton Greaves, Wipro, and Tally.
Dr Pant’s academic achievements encompassed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from B.M.S College of Engineering and a PhD in Information Technology from Malaysia’s Lincoln University College. His enduring legacy and significant accomplishments have indelibly impacted the companies and industries he served.
