In a recent development, the South India Organised Retailers Association (ORA) has issued a stern warning to cease the sales of OnePlus products in their establishments starting May 1. The move comes amidst alleged unresolved concerns with the tech company.
In a formal letter addressed to Ranjeet Singh, Sales Director of OnePlus Technology India, ORA highlighted a year-long struggle with significant obstacles related to selling OnePlus products, which, they claim, remain unaddressed.
Despite continuous efforts to engage with OnePlus to resolve these concerns, ORA asserts that little progress has been made, leading to frustrations within the retail community.
Citing persistently low profit margins, ORA points out the challenges faced by retailers in sustaining their businesses, especially against a backdrop of rising operational and financial costs. Furthermore, delays and complications in warranty and service claims processing have reportedly contributed to customer dissatisfaction.
ORA also raises concerns about model-specific bundling requirements, which they argue have forced retailers to stock non-moving products, resulting in additional losses.
Expressing disappointment over the lack of resolution, ORA states that they had hoped for a more constructive collaboration with OnePlus. However, given the ongoing issues, the association feels compelled to discontinue the sale of OnePlus products in their stores.
ORA has urged OnePlus to proactively address these concerns before the end of the month, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
The South India Organised Retailers Association serves as a collective platform for organised trade retailers in South India, aimed at addressing member concerns and fostering mutual growth, according to their website.
