Jha attributed previous layoffs to “investor pressure” and denied allegations of salary withholding, stating that these claims are attempts to defame the company. However, current and former employees have reported that Saarthi AI has not paid the salaries of over 50 employees since March 2023 and has failed to respond to legal notices.

Despite the financial strain, Jha emphasized that the startup is working to become cash flow positive by Q2 2024 and is in discussions with investors to secure fresh capital to clear outstanding debts and sustain operations.
