On February 14, while many celebrated love in the traditional sense, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath took a different route. Instead of dedicating a heartfelt post to a special someone, he used the occasion to applaud India’s rising entrepreneurs.

Sharing snapshots from a recent event, Kamath expressed admiration for the under-25 business minds shaping India’s future. “Spending a day with India’s brightest made me feel like an idiot,” he admitted, adding, “This generation is way smarter than mine. If this is new India, we’re in good hands.”

His post quickly gained traction, with users praising his optimism and WTFund’s initiative, which recently backed 22 founders across nine startups. While many applauded his vision, others raised concerns over gender representation in the cohort. Several users noted the limited number of female entrepreneurs in the shared photo.

In response, WTFund clarified that three women founders were part of the cohort but were absent from the picture. They also urged more women to take the leap into entrepreneurship, emphasizing, “Take the risk, back yourself—we’re rooting for you!”

Kamath’s message struck a chord, sparking discussions on India’s startup future and the need for inclusivity.
