Finding the ideal school for your children is never an easy task and as parents, it’s an important responsibility on your shoulders to look for the best schools in Bangalore. Bangalore is blessed when it comes to quality education, as it has a lot of good schools in various parts of the city. So, before you start searching for a new school, here are some tips for you to consider while you choose among the best schools in Bangalore.

  1. Curriculum:
When you are searching for the best schools in Bangalore, look at the ICSE curriculum they provide. So, you know what your child will be taught and can ask pertinent questions, particularly if your child is entering a crucial exam span.
  2. Academic Achievement:
Remember your child’s requirements. Some children excel in a formal academic environment, while others prefer more hands-on practical learning that encourages them to explore more. Simply because an ICSE curriculum school appears to be academic, does not indicate that your child is. Make sure there’s a good combination of hands-on learning, practical games, and academic learning, with plenty of time for them to sit and listen. Remember that not all children reach their full potential in primary school and that children grow at various times, so avoid comparing children with others, because only the teacher has the true insight into their learning capabilities.
  3. Entrance Exam:
Some schools require students to take an entrance exam. Prepare your child mentally for these exams, every good school or teacher will easily identify your child’s level of skill and design a curriculum for them accordingly. A test given to a nervous child does not show their true abilities.
  4. Special Needs:
Is there a SEND desk? (Special educational needs and disability) This is important since it shows that the school values children with all abilities and needs, integrating their learning into the classroom or educating them one-on-one or in small groups.
Remember that not all children in a class of 22 or more are on the same learning level, so the teachers can plan their training modules accordingly, and provide focused attention to children with special needs.
  5. English Language:
Check if there are any mother tongue lessons available to help your children if your child learns English as a second language. (ESL).
  6. Communication:
The best schools in Bangalore make sure that they respond to emails/messages promptly if any parent contacts the school quickly in an emergency. So, you should check if the school management is approachable, responsive, and responsible.
  7. Homework:
Homework is meant to put the children, not the parents, to the test, so there should not be a lot of it, and it should only have one activity that has been taught recently. If a child is unable to complete the homework, it has been set incorrectly. Secondary school students (grade 6 and up) require a more formal approach and more homework, but they also require time after school to participate in outdoor activities. Check what homework is assigned at each age level, as well as the deadlines for completion and submission.
  8. Location of the school:
Considering the location of the school in relation to your home is important. Older children can handle longer journeys, but primary school children have a long day at school and must consider the bus ride.
  9. Food:
Find out how the school manages lunchtime. Some schools don’t allow tiffin boxes. If your child only likes eating home-cooked food and is used to it, then you might need to investigate it and choose schools in Bangalore that allow lunch from home.
  10. Costs:
Make sure the school you chose explains all the expenses, including what you’ll be charged if your child requires a plaster! There should be a summary of what you will be paying for and what your child will get in return for a quality learning experience.

These are a few points that as parents, you need to keep in mind before selecting among the schools in Sarjapur road, Bangalore. Always remember that this is one of the most important decisions of your life. So, take out enough time to do your research in finding the ideal school for your child.
