Chamarajanagar: In the early hours of the morning on Thursday panic gripped Biligiriranga hill in Yalandur taluk as a wild elephant freely roamed the area, causing alarm among residents and tourists. The incident occurred in an area between the main road and residential areas where the presence of a wild elephant has added to apprehensions.

Eyewitnesses described how vehicles were forced to retreat when confronted by the animal, including a KSRTC bus and a Tata Ace. This comes following reports of the elephant’s frequent visits over the past two months, with local sources suggesting its attraction for mangoes and jackfruits.
