Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka: Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has officially announced the signing of a Taj-branded hotel in Chikkamagaluru, marking a significant addition to the region’s hospitality landscape. This greenfield project aims to enhance Chikkamagaluru’s appeal as a premier tourist destination, leveraging its lush rainforests and coffee estates.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, emphasized the region’s potential during the announcement. She stated, “With its lush rainforests, coffee estates, and easy access from key cities, Chikkamagaluru can be positioned as a world-class destination, aligning with IHCL’s strategy of putting India’s lesser-known leisure locations on the global tourism map. We are delighted to partner with Arnaytive Resorts for this project.”

Spanning 25 acres, the upcoming Taj Chikkamagaluru will feature 160 keys and will offer breathtaking views of Mullayanagiri Peak, located just a 20-minute drive from the city center. The hotel is set to provide a comprehensive array of amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, and a poolside bar. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, the J Wellness Circle spa, a kids’ club, and a library. Catering to MICE travelers, the hotel will also boast extensive banqueting facilities of over 5,000 square feet.

VP Kiran, Co-founder at Arnaytive Resorts, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to partner with IHCL to bring the Taj brand to Chikkamagaluru. This market, with its untapped potential, will serve as a picturesque getaway, complemented by Taj’s signature services.”

Chikkamagaluru, nestled in the Western Ghats, is renowned for its captivating natural beauty, coffee plantations, misty hills, and adventure trekking trails. The region also features stunning waterfalls and the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. With this new addition, IHCL will now operate 24 hotels in Karnataka, including nine currently under development.
