Tirthahalli: A shocking incident at a government residential school in Tirthahalli has led to the arrest of Mohammed Imtiaz (45), a music teacher, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Imtiaz was apprehended after female students lodged complaints accusing him of inappropriate behavior both on school grounds and during a school trip.
The swift arrest, which took place late Tuesday night in Bengaluru, was praised by law enforcement for its efficiency. The arrest was made possible through diligent police work, including tracking the suspect via CCTV footage. Imtiaz had been employed at the Murarji Residential School for 12 years.
SP Mithun Kumar, who led the operation, assured the public of a thorough investigation, free from external influences. The incident has caused outrage in the local community, with former home minister and MLA Araga Jnanendra condemning the teacher’s actions and calling for stronger protective measures in schools.
