A fatal crash on NH-150A near Bommakkanahalli Majid, Chitradurga, claimed three lives on Tuesday morning. Moula Abdul (35) and his sons Rehman (15) and Sameer (10) lost their lives after their car hit a highway divider and flipped 15 times. His wife, Salima Begum (31), mother, Fatima (75), and son, Hussein, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Ballari VIMS Hospital. The family, originally from Yadgir, was heading home from Bengaluru, where they worked as laborers. PSI Mahesh Hosapete inspected the accident site under Rampur police station’s jurisdiction.
In another tragic collision near Hosur, a 35-year-old dentist, Dr. Amar Prasad, lost his life when an SUV crashed into a parked truck on Thursday morning. The driver, Venu, was checking Google Maps while speeding, leading to the accident on Satellite Town Ring Road at 10 AM. The SUV overturned thrice, killing Dr. Prasad on impact, while Dr. Pravalika and Venu suffered injuries. The Hyderabad-based trio was traveling to Palani temple in Tamil Nadu when the incident occurred.
Both accidents highlight the dangers of reckless driving and distractions on highways.
