The much-anticipated grand finale of the 60th singing competition organized by Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS) took place on Sunday, September 15, at Don Bosco Hall. The event began with the KNS Anthem, followed by a warm welcome from KNS President Dr. Rocky D’Cunha.

Philanthropist Santhosh Sequeira, the guest of honor, along with renowned singer Asha Menezes, inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. Other dignitaries, including KNS officials Liston D’Souza, Floyd D’Mello, and Cletus Lobo, were present.

The competition, featuring over 150 participants in 12 categories, saw fierce performances in solo, duet, mixed group, and married couple segments. Participants ranged from 5 to 45+ years, showcasing their talent in track singing.

Judges included Fr. Ronson Pinto, Ivan Sequeira, Vincent Fernandes, and Meera Florence Crasta. The event was supported by the KNS Managing Committee, with Sunil Menezes handling score computations.

Melwyn Rodrigues, chief guest and director-operations of Daijiworld Media, highlighted the historic significance of the competition, which has nurtured new talent for 80 years. Anil Lobo of MCC Bank Ltd praised KNS’s mission and encouraged participants to value the experience of competing.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Floyd D’Mello, certificates presented to finalists, and prizes sponsored by generous donors. Daijiworld Media served as the media partner.
