Belagavi: The Muslim community across Belagavi district marked Eid-ul-Fitr with enthusiasm on Monday, gathering in large numbers for the special morning prayers. Devotees assembled at mosques and open prayer grounds across the city, with many congregating at Anjuman Islam Idgah Maidan to conclude the sacred month of Ramadan.
The Eid sermon, Khutbah, was delivered by Naeem Khatib, while Hafiz Abdul Razzaq led the congregational prayer. Notable Islamic scholars, including Maulana Mufti Abdul Aziz, Manzoor Nomani, and Mufti Zuhar, participated in the event, invoking divine blessings for global peace, joy, and prosperity.
Men and children, dressed in elegant new attire, arrived early to perform the namaz, embrace one another, and exchange warm Eid greetings. The spirit of brotherhood extended beyond religious lines, as members of different faiths, including Hindus, joined in the celebrations, reinforcing communal harmony.
Among the dignitaries present were MLA Asif Raju Sait, former MLA Feroz Sait, and DCP Rohan Jagadish, who conveyed their best wishes. The festive atmosphere was also felt at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, where officials and leaders exchanged greetings, underscoring the unity and inclusivity of the occasion.
The day was filled with joy, heartfelt prayers, and shared moments, making Eid-ul-Fitr a true celebration of togetherness and compassion.
