Sharjah, UAE — The Karnataka community in the UAE came together on Saturday, 6 December 2025, at Thumbay Villa, Sharjah, to celebrate Thumbay Group’s remarkable 28-year journey. The event blended cultural pride, community bonding, and recognition of outstanding leadership that has shaped the UAE’s social and business landscape.

The evening commenced with a visual presentation showcasing Thumbay Group’s growth and achievements under the visionary leadership of Dr Thumbay Moideen. In his welcome address, Dr Moideen reflected on the Group’s rise as a respected global institution in education, healthcare, and research, extending heartfelt gratitude to the UAE leadership and the Karnataka diaspora for their unwavering support.

Dignitaries Laud Thumbay Group’s Impact

Prominent guests shared inspiring messages during the celebration:

  • Shri U. T. Khader, Hon. Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly, applauded the entrepreneurial spirit of Indians in the Gulf region.
  • H. E. Shri Sathish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India to the UAE, praised Thumbay Group’s contribution to strengthening India–UAE ties and setting global benchmarks in medical education and healthcare.

  • Dr B. K. Yusuf, President, Bearys Cultural Forum
