A key highlight of the formal segment was the felicitation of Mr Joseph Mathias, recipient of the Dakshina Kannada District Kannada Rajyotsava Award, whose achievements reflect the enduring values of service and community leadership.

The evening also saw all sponsors being honoured by the priests, recognising their unwavering support and generosity that made Kala Festh 2.0 possible.

Vibrant Performances and Cultural Splendour

Adding youthful energy and rhythm to the celebration, Konkan Yuva delivered electrifying dance performances that captivated the audience and set the stage for the night’s main event.

The spotlight of the evening was the world premiere of the brand-new Konkani comedy drama “Yenaa Zalyar Vochana”, written and directed by Konkani Comedy Prince Pradeep Barboza Paladka, performed alongside the talented team of Sangon Mugdana Kalakar.

The laughter-filled drama featured an impressive cast, including:
Paul D’Souza (Paladka), Josly Pinto (Moodbidre), Lavina Fernandes (Pangla), Godwin Castelino (Attur), Diany D’Souza (Pamboor), Roystan Kiran D’Souza (Balkunje), Helvin Barboza (Kulur), Ranjitha Lewis (Sastan), and Vernon D’Souza (Mangalore).

A Perfect Blend of Humour, Message, and Music

The drama, known for its sharp dialogues, humour, and relatable storytelling, portrayed the lives of neighbourhood families — including hotel owners, a photographer, and a household renting a room to a paying guest — blending humour and emotion to reflect everyday Konkani life.

It concluded with a meaningful message on the influence of social media in shaping modern relationships and society.

The play’s impact was enhanced by the background score composed by Franklin Rodrigues (Siddakatte) and the technical brilliance of Austin D’Souza (Paladka), Jeethan D’Cunha (Bejai), and Rohan Lobo (Kalakul).

Pradeep Barboza’s dynamic direction, coupled with his natural acting and sharp comedic timing, left the audience in awe, reaffirming his place as one of Konkani theatre’s finest modern voices.
