Doha, Qatar: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) marked International Yoga Day with an energetic and mindful celebration at Pearling Sports Academy, Doha. The event brought together wellness enthusiasts, community leaders, and members of the Karnataka diaspora in Qatar to honour the ancient Indian practice of yoga for mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
The event began with General Secretary Kumarswamy opening the proceedings and handing over the session to Kannada Development Secretary Bheemappa Khot. KSQ President Ravi Shetty, in his welcome address, encouraged attendees to adopt yoga into their daily routines. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he said: “Through practice comes yoga, through yoga comes knowledge, through knowledge love, and through love bliss.”
Yoga and meditation sessions
Renowned yoga trainer Anita Paple conducted a rejuvenating yoga session, followed by a calming meditation practice led by Jayavani. Both sessions were enthusiastically received, leaving participants feeling refreshed and energised.
Rajatha Cup Cricket Tournament flyer released
A key highlight of the day was the official flyer release of the KSQ Silver Jubilee Karnataka Rajatha Cup Cricket Tournament, to be held in collaboration with the Karnataka Royals Cricket Team. Cricket promoter and community leader Asmath Ali unveiled the flyer, accompanied by KSQ Advisors, the Management Committee, and Karnataka Royals representatives.
Strong community participation
Vice President Ramesha KS delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of organisers, guests, and volunteers. In keeping with the wellness theme, attendees were served healthy refreshments after the event.
