Dubai, June 24, 2025 – In a heartfelt tribute to Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage and community spirit, Mangalore Konkans Dubai (MKD) is set to host Mattov, a landmark socio-cultural gathering that brings together Karnataka’s vibrant associations and eminent personalities from across the UAE. The highly anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Lavender Hotel, Al Qusais, beginning at 7:00 PM sharp.

Mattov: A celebration of unity and leadership

Organised with MKD’s hallmark attention to detail and punctuality, Mattov promises an immersive cultural experience. The evening will open with a traditional brass band procession, welcoming guests in true Mangalorean style, setting a spirited and nostalgic tone for what lies ahead.

The event stands out for the presence of distinguished personalities whose contributions have made indelible marks both in India and the Gulf region:

Dr. B.R. Shetty

A global healthcare entrepreneur and humanitarian, Dr. Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, founder of NMC Healthcare, is celebrated for his contributions to both the UAE and India. Recipient of the Order of Abu Dhabi (2005), Padma Shri, and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman (2009), his legacy of philanthropy and leadership makes him a symbol of Indo-UAE harmony.

Dr. Thumbay Moideen

Sadhan Puraskar to honour cultural icons

A key highlight of the evening will be the inaugural presentation of the ‘Sadhan Puraskar’, MKD’s new honour celebrating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Konkani art, culture, and community welfare. The first-ever recipient will be Mr. Alwyn Pinto, known for his cultural legacy and social commitment.
