Abu Dhabi: The Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF) Abu Dhabi Zone organised a magnificent Grand Meelad Conferenceat the Abu Dhabi Indian Islamic Centre on the evening of September 6, 2025. The event, held with great devotion and grandeur, brought together community leaders, scholars, and members of the Kannadiga diaspora for a memorable evening of reflection and celebration.
A graceful beginning
The programme commenced with the recitation of Moulid–Burda, setting a spiritual tone for the evening. Students of Thwaiba Madrasa rendered the national anthem, symbolising the harmony of faith and nationhood.
The conference was formally inaugurated by KCF UAE National President Ibrahim Sakhafi Kedumbadi, who underscored the significance of the Meelad as a moment to revive spiritual values and strengthen unity among communities.
As a mark of tradition, the Abu Dhabi Meelad Committee honoured the chief guests with mementoes. In addition, a special Karnataka-style tabarruk was prepared, packed by Kannadiga community members, and distributed to all participants at the conclusion of the event.
Keynote theme: Prophet Muhammad, the timeless guide
The highlight of the evening was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Abdussalam Musliyar Devarshola, who spoke under the theme “The Prophet – The Timeless Guide.”
Dr. Musliyar emphasised the values of humanity, compassion, and harmony embodied by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He urged the gathering to integrate these noble teachings into daily life, reminding that the Prophet’s message transcends generations and remains relevant for all humanity.

The evening began with a welcome address by KCF Abu Dhabi President Kabeer Bayambady, who thanked participants for supporting the initiative and highlighted the importance of carrying forward Karnataka’s cultural and spiritual traditions abroad.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Reception Committee General Convener Umar Ishwaramangala, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, guests, volunteers, and attendees for making the event a success.
A community united in faith and service
Beyond its religious significance, the Grand Meelad Conference served as a cultural bridge for the Kannadiga community in Abu Dhabi. By combining devotional recitations, scholarly addresses, and the distribution of Karnataka’s traditional tabarruk, the event underscored the importance of unity, service, and cultural pride.
